The open highway is an unpredictable place at the best of times. This fact is even more relevant for the drivers of today’s heavy vehicles. A moments loss of concentration, or the inconsiderate behaviour of another road user, can result in collision and subsequent wreckage. The dismal sight of a rig overturned and smashed beyond recognition may, at first sight, seem an impossible salvage task. Such commendable efforts have not gone unrecognised with requests for towing assistance coming from as far afield as Auckland and the South Island.
